Anticrepuscular Rays over Florida

NASA APOD · Bryan Goff
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Sun is setting behind you, but its light is still visible. These are anticrepuscular rays, which are parallel beams of sunlight that appear to converge at the antisolar point. That point is directly opposite the Sun in the sky. It is an optical illusion caused by perspective, much like parallel train tracks appearing to meet in the distance.
