Andromeda Station

This image is a digital composite of the Andromeda Galaxy, M31, rising over a mountain. Exposures tracking the galaxy and background stars have been combined with separate exposures of the foreground terrain. All exposures were made back to back with the same camera and telephoto lens from the same location. This technique, called "Deepscape," creates a surreal view of our neighboring galaxy.
