The curvy lines in this image show the magnetic field structures of our Milky Way Galaxy. Observations from ESA's Planck satellite, analyzing dust grain emissions, revealed these previously unknown structures. The dark red shows the plane of the Milky Way, where dust is most concentrated. The huge arches above the plane are likely remnants of past explosive events from our Galaxy's core.
