Comet NEOWISE over Stonehenge

NASA APOD · Declan Deval
COSMIC MESSAGE

A comet is an icy relic from the early solar system, a dirty snowball five kilometers wide. Comet NEOWISE, seen here over Stonehenge, was visible in July 2020. The comet passed within the orbit of Mercury, then swung back out, putting on a show for those of us on Earth.
