The Great Rift, a lane of obscuring dust, runs through the northern Milky Way. This mosaic of 22 images shows a skyscape near Cygnus, where the bright star Deneb marks the top center. Interstellar dust and glowing hydrogen gas paint this region of our galaxy. The image captures a 24-degree span of the sky.
