The sky on
your birthday.
“Simeis 147: Supernova Remnant” is copyrighted by Georges Attard. NASA has permission to show it and we don't, so it isn't on this card.
See it on NASA's siteIt's easy to get lost in the intricate looping filaments of supernova remnant Simeis 147, also known as the Spaghetti Nebula. This stellar debris cloud, about 3,000 light-years away, spans nearly three degrees of sky, roughly six full moons. It sits near the border of Taurus and Auriga. This image combines data from narrow-band filters, highlighting the glowing gas.
