Zodiacal Night

An intense band of zodiacal light stretches across this night sky panorama from the Pyrenees in southern France. The image, taken after sunset on April 7, 2021, looks west from an altitude of 2838 meters. Above the peaks, the familiar stars of Orion and the northern winter Milky Way approach the horizon. Betelgeuse, at Orion's shoulder, is one of three bright yellow stars.
