COSMIC MESSAGE
On June 10, 2021, an annular solar eclipse produced this view of the Sun rising over the Atlantic Ocean from Belmar, New Jersey. Atmospheric refraction flattened and distorted the solar disk. The Moon, in partial silhouette, gave the rising Sun a crescent shape, which reminded some observers of devil horns. During its full annular phase, this eclipse created a ring of fire in the sky.
