The SPHINX computer simulation models the formation of the first stars in the early universe. This video shows matter clumping together as time progresses, starting 100 million years after the Big Bang. Initially, the universe was dark and uniformly spread. Over time, slight matter concentrations, rich in hydrogen gas, began to coalesce, eventually leading to the birth of the first stars.
