COSMIC MESSAGE
Comet C/2017 K2 (PanSTARRS) was imaged on June 20, 2022, sharing its field of view with open star cluster IC 4665 and the star Beta Ophiuchi. This comet is on its first journey to the inner Solar System from the distant Oort cloud. When first spotted in May 2017, it was the most distant active inbound comet ever found, located 2.4 billion kilometers from the Sun.
