COSMIC MESSAGE
On July 5th, Earth reached its aphelion, the point in its orbit farthest from the Sun. This doesn't affect our seasons, which are determined by Earth's axial tilt. However, it does mean the Sun appeared at its smallest from Earth. This composite image shows the Sun at both its perihelion and aphelion, highlighting the slight difference in apparent size.
