COSMIC MESSAGE

This striking display of northern lights was photographed from Nova Scotia, Canada, at 44 degrees north latitude. The five-second exposure captures the scene looking north from Martinique Beach Provincial Park. Stars of the W-shaped constellation Cassiopeia are visible above the horizon, shining through the red tint of the higher-altitude auroral glow. This aurora was anticipated due to stormy space weather.
