COSMIC MESSAGE
The Running Chicken Nebula, cataloged as IC 2944, is an emission nebula where new stars may be forming. Toward the bottom of the image, small, dark molecular clouds, known as Thackeray's Globules, are visible. These "eggs" are dense pockets of cosmic dust and gas, potential sites for gravitational collapse into new stars.
