COSMIC MESSAGE
Three thousand light-years away, a dying star sheds layers of glowing gas, forming the Cat's Eye Nebula, NGC 6543. The Hubble Space Telescope reveals this to be one of the most intricate planetary nebulae known. Its complex features suggest the central object might be a binary star system. Despite the name, planetary nebulae have nothing to do with planets.
