Mars, named for the Roman god of war, has two tiny moons, Phobos and Deimos. Phobos, the larger moon, is a cratered, asteroid-like object. This color image from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter shows Phobos, which is slowly spiraling inward and is doomed to eventually collide with Mars or break apart.
