Jupiter was exceptionally close to Earth in late September 2022, offering excellent views. This sharp image was taken with a small telescope from a backyard in Florence, Arizona, on September 27. Stacked video frames reveal Jupiter's massive form, with its moon Ganymede casting a shadow on the planet's cloud tops.
