COSMIC MESSAGE

Stars are forming in Lynds Dark Nebula 1251, about 1,000 light-years away. This dusty molecular cloud is part of a complex of dark nebulae in the Cepheus flare region. Energetic shocks and outflows from newborn stars, including reddish Herbig-Haro objects, are visible within the obscuring interstellar clouds.
