Pleiades: The Seven Sisters Star Cluster

The Pleiades, or the Seven Sisters, is perhaps the most famous star cluster in the sky. Even from a city, you can often spot its bright stars. With a long exposure from a dark location, like this one from Florida, the dust cloud surrounding the cluster becomes clearly visible. This star cluster is a beautiful example of young, hot stars still embedded in the gas and dust from which they formed.
