The Ring Nebula from Webb and Hubble
The Ring Nebula, M57, is more complex than it appears through a small telescope. This combined image from the James Webb Space Telescope and the Hubble Space Telescope reveals intricate gas strings around the main ring. These filaments, like cosmic eyelashes, are made evident by deep exposures in both visible and infrared light.
