The Pistachio Nebula, a newly discovered and faint cloud of gas and dust, is nearly the size of the full Moon. Unlike most new nebulae found by large professional telescopes, this one was discovered by amateur astronomers. It shows that even small telescopes, with long exposures, can reveal previously unknown features in the sky.
