COSMIC MESSAGE
The Tarantula Nebula, also known as 30 Doradus, is a giant star-forming region in the Large Magellanic Cloud. It spans over a thousand light-years and is about 180,000 light-years away from us. This nebula is the largest and most active star-forming region in our Local Group of galaxies. Intense radiation from the young stars within it sculpts the surrounding gas and dust.
