Comet, Planet, Moon

Three bright objects were visible in the western sky after sunset earlier this month. The Moon, in a crescent phase, appears on the upper left. The rest of its disk is faintly lit by earthshine. The bright planet Jupiter, the largest in our solar system, is also visible. Below the Moon, Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks displays a stubby dust tail and an impressive ion tail.
