A Conjunction of Crescents
NASA APOD · Aldo S. Kleiman
COSMIC MESSAGE
A waxing crescent Moon and a waning crescent Venus appear at opposite corners of this twilight view from Rosario, Argentina. On February 1, the Moon was about 3 days old, while Venus, like the Moon, cycles through phases as it orbits the Sun. These two brightest celestial beacons were captured in a close conjunction in Earth's western evening sky.
