Star Formation in the Pacman Nebula
The Pacman Nebula, NGC 281, is not eating stars, but forming them. Within the nebula, young, massive stars power its pervasive glow. The nebula's eye-catching shapes, like dusty columns and dense Bok globules, are sculpted by intense winds and radiation from these hot cluster stars. These dusty structures could also be future sites of star formation.
