A Blue Banded Blood Moon

This HDR image of a lunar eclipse, taken from Norman, Oklahoma, exaggerates the colors to show a real but usually faint blue band crossing the Moon. The gray upper right is the Moon's natural color, directly lit by the Sun. The lower parts of the Moon in all three images are not directly lit, as they are being eclipsed by Earth's shadow.
