Lunar Dust and Duct Tape

The Moon's surface is covered in a fine, powdery dust called regolith, created by eons of micrometeorite impacts. Unlike Earth, there's no wind or water on the Moon to weather rocks into soil. This pervasive, gritty dust was a significant challenge for Apollo astronauts and their equipment. Apollo 17 astronauts Harrison Schmitt and Eugene Cernan even had to use duct tape to repair a lunar rover fender in December 1972.
