Stars Trail over Ragusa

On March 14, 2020, an astrophotographer in Ragusa, Italy, captured these star trails. The image combines 230 fifteen-second exposures, showing the stars' circular paths across the night sky. Polaris, the North Star, makes a short, bright trail near the center of the concentric arcs. The Earth's rotation causes the stars to appear to move in these arcs, a phenomenon shared across the planet.
