This infrared image from the James Webb Space Telescope shows Herbig-Haro 49 (HH 49), an interstellar jet expelled by a forming star system. The star system itself is not visible, located off to the lower right. The complex conical structure also includes another jet, HH 50, where fast particles impact gas and form glowing shock waves.
