COSMIC MESSAGE
Most globular clusters orbit the Milky Way's halo, but NGC 6366 is close to the galactic plane. It lies about 12,000 light-years away in Ophiuchus. Interstellar dust dims and reddens the cluster's starlight, making its stars appear golden. This is especially noticeable next to the bright, bluish star 47 Ophiuchi.
