This telephoto snapshot captures a slender crescent moon just above a small mountain church. The moon is reflecting sunlight, while the church walls partly reflect terrestrial floodlights. Only a sliver of the moon's sunlit surface was visible, about 1.5 days old, showing a mere two percent illumination.
