Closest Ever Images Near the Sun

The Parker Solar Probe, launched in 2018, is investigating regions close to the Sun. This time-lapse video, captured by the probe's WISPR cameras, shows the view from behind its Sun shield during its closest approach to the Sun. It looped down to only about five solar diameters above the hot surface, providing the closest images ever taken near our star.
