In April 1970, an oxygen tank exploded on Apollo 13, damaging its service module and forcing the astronauts to abandon their lunar landing. This photo, taken as the crippled module drifted away, reveals the extent of the damage. An entire panel on the right side of the module was blown away before it was jettisoned for reentry.
