On April 9, 1996, Comet Hyakutake was a brilliant sight in the night sky over Missouri. Here, it graces a field rich with other celestial objects. The bright evening star Venus is visible, and just below it, the Pleiades star cluster glistens. The comet's blue tail extends upwards, past a nearby star cluster in the constellation Perseus.
