Saturn's Rings Seen Sideways

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Saturn's rings are very thin, as seen in this Hubble Space Telescope picture from August 6, 1995. The rings are lined up sideways from Earth's perspective. Saturn's largest moon, Titan, is visible on the left, and its shadow can be seen on Saturn's cloud tops. Titan appears brownish due to its thick atmosphere.
