Bright Stars, Dim Galaxy
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
These two clusters of bright, newly formed stars lie 10 million light-years away in the irregular galaxy NGC 2366. The Hubble Space Telescope captured this view. The younger cluster, at the bottom and about 2 million years old, is still enveloped in the gas and dust cloud it formed from. The older cluster, at the top and 4 to 5 million years old, has stars whose powerful stellar winds have begun to clear away its central areas.
