Our home planet, Earth, captured by the GOES 8 satellite. This image, taken in false color, shows water vapor in the upper troposphere. The satellite's multi-channel imager records radiation at 6.7 microns, about ten times the wavelength of visible light. Brighter regions indicate more water vapor.
