COSMIC MESSAGE
Deimos, the smaller of Mars's two moons, is a potato-shaped body barely 6 miles wide. The Viking 2 orbiter visited Deimos in 1977, taking this detailed image from just 18 miles above its surface. Features less than 10 feet across are visible, showing craters and large chunks of rock.
