COSMIC MESSAGE

Jupiter's Great Red Spot appears yellowish-green in this infrared image taken by the Galileo Spacecraft's Near Infrared Mapping Spectrometer, NIMS, in June 1996. The NIMS instrument, operating at a chilly 55 Kelvin, used three different infrared wavelengths to create this composite. This massive, cold, high-pressure storm is two to three Earth diameters wide.
