COSMIC MESSAGE
Galaxy collisions may form star clusters. Hubble Space Telescope observations of the "Antennae" galaxies, NGC 4038 and NGC 4039, suggest this. As they merge, their combined gravity pulls them apart, gas clouds collide, and new bright stars and dark dust disperse. Many blue knots appear to be newly formed globular clusters.
