Help Aldebaran Map the Moon

NASA APOD · F. B. Catala
COSMIC MESSAGE

Aldebaran, the brightest star in Taurus, is about to be hidden by the Moon. This event, called an occultation, can help map the lunar terrain. By recording the exact time the star disappears from different locations, astronomers can measure the Moon's surface height. This image, taken in April, shows Aldebaran near Comet Hale-Bopp.
