COSMIC MESSAGE

The Very Large Array (VLA) in New Mexico is one of the world's most powerful radio observatories. It consists of 27 dishes, each 25 meters across, spread out over 35 kilometers on railroad tracks. Using interferometry, these dishes combine their signals to achieve the resolution of a single, city-sized telescope. The VLA is sensitive enough to detect faint radio sources across the cosmos.
