Cold Wind From The Boomerang Nebula
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
A cold wind blows from the central star of the Boomerang Nebula, located about 5,000 light-years away. This false-color image shows dust reflecting starlight. The boomerang-shaped cloud was created by a high-speed wind of gas and dust, moving at over 300,000 miles per hour, ejected from an aging central star. This rapid expansion has cooled the nebular gas to about -458 degrees Fahrenheit, making it the coldest region observed in the universe.
