Dark Craters on Ganymede
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Ganymede, the largest moon in the Solar System, shows its age through numerous impact craters. This picture shows two old craters with dark floors in a bright region called Memphis Facula, which itself was likely created by an ancient collision. The dark floors of these craters were formed long ago and now contain craters of their own.
