Ghost Galaxy NGC 2915

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 2915 is a blue compact dwarf galaxy that appears as a normal dwarf in visible light. However, when imaged in radio wavelengths, which detect neutral hydrogen atoms, a full spiral galaxy appears. Much about these compact dwarf galaxies, including how the spiral structure forms, remains a mystery.
