COSMIC MESSAGE
The 1998 Leonids Meteor Shower was extensively photographed, with patient observers capturing bright meteors every few minutes. This image, taken high above the Anza-Borrego Desert, shows a meteor streaking from the constellation Leo, the radiant point of the shower. The meteor's trail spanned over 40 degrees and shifted in color from green to red as it burned through the atmosphere.
