COSMIC MESSAGE

The Ring Nebula, M57, is one of the most famous celestial bands. Its simple, graceful appearance is due to our perspective, looking straight into what is a barrel-shaped cloud of gas. This gas was shed by a dying central star. The Hubble Heritage Project produced this sharp image using Space Telescope data.
