COSMIC MESSAGE
The Leonids meteor shower appears to radiate from the constellation Leo, seen here on the left of this all-sky photograph. This is why the November shower is named the Leonids. Sand-sized debris from Comet Tempel-Tuttle follows a predictable orbit, and when Earth crosses its path, these particles burn up in our atmosphere, creating the streaks we see.
