The Wind on Mars
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Mars has wind, too. Images of the north polar cap show sand dunes covered in frost. In places, the frost has eroded, revealing the dark sand underneath. This erosion must have taken place within the past Martian year, as the frost is only as old as the Martian winter. Much of the region's appearance has been sculpted by wind-blown dust.
