Good Morning Moon

On January 9, early risers saw an old Moon, low in the east before dawn. Above Saarburg, Germany, the waning crescent was captured just before sunrise. Inner planets Venus and Mercury also shared the cold morning sky, never straying far from the Sun in Earth's view.
