Blasting Off from the Moon

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

To return from the Moon, the Lunar Module split apart. The top section, carrying the astronauts and extra fuel, blasted off, leaving the lower section behind. It then rendezvoused with the Command Module, which had been orbiting the Moon with its pilot. All three astronauts then returned to Earth. This picture was taken by a robotic TV camera left on the Moon.
